Final stage of approval for Mate emoji proposal

Mate emoji may be approved by april 2019!

The team leading the proposal, participated in the Emojicon NYC 2018 (Unicode Emoji Convention) under the subject "International Brew: The History of the Mate Emoji".

The Mate emoji proposal includes maps, geographic data, a list of countries which are the top importers of Yerba Mate, top producers, and top consumers countries like Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Brasil y Chile and even Siria! This document also includes pictures of  celebrities drinking mate, like Pope Francis, Leo Messi, Diego Maradona, Che Guevara, ex US President Barack Obama and Disney’s Goofy, among other famous artists and soccer players.

Once the emoji is approved, it will depend on the different operating systems, mafuacturers or apps to create or adapt the specific mate icon, based on the proposal.
